How to Care for Your Lab-Grown Diamond Jewellery

Keep your Inasha Diamonds lab-grown diamond jewellery looking brilliant for life. Complete guide to cleaning, storing, and maintaining diamond rings, earrings, bracelets, and pendants.

Lab-grown diamonds are one of the hardest materials on earth — scoring 10 on the Mohs scale — but that doesn't mean they're maintenance-free. The gold or platinum setting, the finish, and the brilliance of the stone all require occasional care. Here's how to keep your Inasha Diamonds pieces looking exactly as they did on day one.

Cleaning Your Diamond Jewellery at Home

The most effective home cleaning method: warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, and a soft toothbrush.

  1. Fill a small bowl with warm (not hot) water and add a drop of mild liquid dish soap.
  2. Soak the jewellery for 20–30 minutes.
  3. Gently scrub with a soft-bristle toothbrush, paying attention to the underside of the diamond and the prongs.
  4. Rinse thoroughly under clean running water.
  5. Pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth and allow to air dry fully before storing.

Do this once a month for rings worn daily, and every 2–3 months for occasional-wear pieces.

What to Avoid

Never use: bleach, chlorine, or harsh chemical cleaners (they can damage gold alloys and loosen prong settings), ultrasonic cleaners at home, or toothpaste (it is abrasive and can scratch gold).

Remove your diamond jewellery before: swimming (chlorine in pools damages gold), applying hand cream, sunscreen, or perfume (residue dulls brilliance), heavy manual work or exercise, and sleeping (repeated mechanical stress loosens settings over time).

Professional Cleaning and Maintenance

We recommend a professional clean and inspection every 12–18 months. A jeweller will ultrasonically clean the piece, inspect all prong tips for wear, check for loose stones, and re-polish if needed. If your white gold piece has lost its bright finish, a professional rhodium replating will restore it.

Storing Your Jewellery

Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box — diamonds can scratch other diamonds and other jewellery. Keep away from direct sunlight and humidity. Never store loose in a bag or pocket.

Travelling with Diamond Jewellery

Always carry high-value jewellery in your hand luggage, never in checked baggage. Declare items at customs if required by your destination country. Consider travel insurance that covers jewellery specifically if travelling internationally.
